Restoring An Old House: The Squire Bagley House
Holliston Historical Society Program featuring Denis Semprebon of Beacon Hill Restoration on Tuesday, March 19th at 7:00 PM.
On Tuesday, March 19th at 7:00 PM, please join us at the Holliston Historical Society, 547 Washington St., for a talk by Holliston resident, Denis Semprebon, owner of Beacon Hill Restoration. Denis will speak about his work restoring the Squire Bagley House in Amesbury. This house was built circa 1780 and remained in the Bagley family for many years. The Bagley House is significant in the life of Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of the Church of Christ, Scientist. She was invited by Sarah Bagley to stay and teach in the house in 1868 and 1870. The Bagley House is now owned by the Longyear Museum. They undertook the restoration in 2018 and completed it in 2022. Mr. Semprebon was hired as a consultant and he helped the Longyear staff through the process of restoration. They preserved as much original material as they could and found historically accurate replacements from local companies when they couldn't. The House is now open to the public. We hope you will join us for what should be an interesting talk about this project! Refreshments will follow the talk which will be held in the Great Room of the Asa Whiting House.
