Holliston Historical Society brings back Holiday Door Decor Contest for 2nd year

The Holliston Historical Society is bringing back a little extra holiday cheer with its second annual Holiday Door Décor Contest, inviting residents to showcase their creativity, celebrate the season, and help make Holliston even more festive.

Following a successful inaugural year that drew entries from neighborhoods throughout town, the contest returns with a few new features, including easier photo submissions and a new Fan Favorite award.

Open to all Holliston residents, the contest invites participants to decorate their front doors, stoops, or porches with their favorite seasonal decorations. From traditional wreaths and twinkling lights to colorful, whimsical, or imaginative displays, all holiday traditions and decorating styles are welcome.

“We were thrilled to see the creativity and enthusiasm that residents brought to our first contest,” said committee chair Sarah Amtower. “This year, we’re hoping to see even more Holliston homes get into the holiday spirit. Whether your style is classic and understated or completely over the top, we’d love to see it!”

Entries will be accepted November 1 through December 13. This year, participants will submit photographs of their decorated entrances, making it easier than ever to enter. Decorations will be judged on their creativity and overall presentation, not the quality of the photographs.

A committee from the Historical Society will select first-, second-, and third-place winners, along with an Honorable Mention. New this year, residents will also have an opportunity to vote for a Fan Favorite on the Society’s Facebook page, giving the community a chance to celebrate its favorite festive display.

Top winners will receive gift cards donated by local businesses, along with town-wide recognition and, of course, holiday bragging rights!

Winners will be announced on December 18.
