Matt York as Johnny Cash: Music After Hours at the Library, Friday, Oct. 2 , 6-7 p.m.
Longtime New England musician/author Matt York will perform the songs of Johnny Cash and discuss Cash’s career from the 1950’s to his passing in 2003. Twice nominated for the Boston Music Award for Best Country Artist, York recently released his second book, “The Words and Wisdom of Willie Nelson.”

The Boston Red Sox have played in 13 World Series. Their nine World Championships tie them for third place in history with the Dodgers and A’s, trailing only the Yankees and Cardinals. Red Sox historian Herb Crehan has interviewed players from the four World Champion teams of the 21st century and players from the four previous contenders, who each fell one game short. He will share the thoughts, ranging from agony to ecstasy, of players from all eight of the most recent Red Sox American League pennant winning teams.
The Golden Age of Silent Film, with Richard Hughes, Wednesday, Oct. 28, 7-8:30 p.m. Please note: this program will take place at the Holliston Historical Society Barn, 547 Washington Street.
The Golden Age of silent film was a treasure trove brimming with adventure, drama, romance and comedy. Put together with live “Mood Music” accompaniment, these films provided entertainment for the world.
Join us at the Holliston Historical Society barn for a Laurel and Hardy short film in keeping with the Halloween season, Habeas Corpus, with musical accompaniment and a discussion led by period expert Richard Hughes.
