Classical Guitar Recital with Francesco Barone, Sat., June 6: 1-2 p.m.

Classical Guitarist Francesco Barone will present a recital including music from the standard classical guitar repertoire. Background information will be given on all the pieces being performed, and the recital is open to audiences of all ages. The feature piece will be Andrea Clearfield’s Reflections on the Dranyen. Clearfield is a living female composer whose piece is inspired by and seeks to imitate the Tibetan dranyen.

Let’s Go for a Walk... on the Appalachian Trail! Sat., June 13: 11 a.m. – 12 p.m. Please Register.

One woman traded her routines for a backpack and a winding footpath stretching across 14 states. 

On the Appalachian Trail, she learned that the hardest steps often lead to the most unexpected transformations. Join Susan Leo-Johnson as she shares her journey on trail, and learn what it takes to thru-hike the world’s oldest continuous footpath. This engaging visual and tactile presentation offers audiences a glimpse into what it’s like to be a thru-hiker on the Appalachian Trail. Through a blend of photographs, historical insight, and personal experiences, this informative program is designed to both enlighten and inspire.

Experienced hiker, outdoorswoman, and author Alison O’Leary provides a virtual tour of a dozen day trip options in Massachusetts that are sure to excite your family and provide memories for years to come.

Come to the library the third Tuesday of every month and watch a new movie! This month’s showing is Eleanor the Great. After the death of her oldest friend, 94-year-old Eleanor Morgenstein moves from Florida to New York City for a fresh start. Wandering into a support group for Holocaust survivors, she tells a tale that takes on a dangerous life of its own. Running time 1 hour and 38 minutes. Rated PG-13 (2025)

Celebrating America’s 250th: “Boston, 1776” Virtual Program with author J.D. Dickey

We are so pleased to be starting this nine-week series to celebrate the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence and who would be better to kick it off than author J.D. Dickey discussing his book, “Boston, 1776: A Rogue Tour of Revolution City.” Relive the chaos, courage, and color of the American Revolution’s capital city while meeting those who led the fight in the nation’s War of Independence.
