Holliston Knights of Columbus Conduct Successful Charity Fundraising Season

The Holliston Knights of Columbus wrapped up their major 2025 fundraising season with two major wins for charitable organizations – their annual golf tournament and charitable raffle, both held on June 20th at Pinecrest Golf Club.  The two events raised $30,000 for charity this year, bringing their seventeen-year total to $390,000!

Their 4th annual “Swing For Charity” Golf Tournament was dedicated to the Memory of Bob Nemet who devoted many years to both the Town of Holliston and the Holliston Pantry Shelf.

Ninety-two golfers (23 teams) participated in the KofC “Swing for Charity” Golf Tournament.  First Place was won by Steve Snow, Dan Higgins, Brian Sanford & Tim Smith with a score of 10 under Par. This is the 3rd time this team has had the best score. Second Place was won by the Faichney Family (Robert, Andrew, Debbie and Matt) with a score of 8 under Par.  Third Place was won by a team sponsored by Melick & Porter LLC consisting of Tom Donovan, Brian Davies, Bob Healy and Reed Karaska with a score of 8 under Par. The Council also closed their 17th Annual Charity Raffle at the event with the drawing of names of the five cash prize winners for the $2,000 in prize money.  The annual event is now so recognized in the area that, despite rain on every weekend group sales event, people were still very willing to stop and purchase tickets to help several organizations.  This year’s winners were Helen Hartnett, Katy Wilson, Suzan Sloat, Todd Miegs, and the Fatima Shrine.  Raffle Chair Tom Anguish thanks all the brothers who worked so hard selling tickets and especially all those who bought tickets to support the organizations the Council is trying to help.

The proceeds of the two events will be distributed to the Holliston Pantry Shelf and other area food pantries, the MetroWest Veterans Emergency Assistance Fund, The Center in Holliston, the Doug Flutie Jr. Foundation for Autism, and other charitable organizations.
