Kimayo’s “My Queer Faith” tour coming to Holliston

Singer-songwriter Kimayo will perform at First Congregational Church in Holliston on Sunday, April 30, at 6 pm, as part of her tour, “My Queer Faith.” The concert is a joint production of First Congregational Church and Temple Beth Torah.
Kimayo said, “My Queer Faith” was birthed out of three core desires:

• To highlight and introduce the LGBTQIA+ community to existing Open & Affirming faith-based safe spaces.
• To emphasize the need for and value of Open & Affirming faith communities to the LGBTQIA+ community.

• To provide her a way to connect with Open & Affirming faith communities as she continues her own faith journey.
Kimayo lived in Gilford throughout the first two years of the pandemic. During that time, she recorded multiple singles at The Greenhouse recording studio in Gilford, which were released by Unlabel Records. Her third single, Becoming Untamed, celebrates her coming out as queer in May 2020. She has since recorded another single, Something Real, and a full-length album that includes all of the songs from her tour.
In welcoming Kimayo to perform, Rabbi Mimi Micner of Temple Beth Torah said, “We are excited for this collaboration between Temple Beth Torah and the First Congregational Church of Holliston. It is our shared work and our shared hope to support members of the LGBTQ community in their religious and spiritual flourishing.”
This concert is open to adults and mature teens with parental discretion as this event contains sensitive topics relating to physical and mental health. For more details contact Rev. Bonnie Steinroeder at 508-429-8608 or [email protected].
Doors open at 5:30 pm, with the concert scheduled from 6 – 7 pm. This is a donation-based event. Following the performance, there will be an opportunity to meet Kimayo and purchase her merchandise. To learn more about Kimayo or listen to her music visit www.kimayomusic.com.
