Retired Deputy Fire Chief Moore passed away Served on Holliston Fire Department for 37 years

On April 12, the Holliston Fire Department announced the passing of Retired Deputy Chief Arthur “Jim” Moore (1940-2024).

According to the department’s Facebook post, “The Deputy joined the department in April 1985, rising quickly through the ranks of the suppression force, being promoted from Engine 1 Captain to Deputy Chief/EMS Supervisor in 2001, the position from which he retired in January 2023.”

On April 19, the Holliston Police Department posted photos and video of the funeral procession through downtown, and a message that said, “Thank you for your dedicated service to our community, Dep. You are deeply missed.” 

According to his obituary, “Jim was the owner of Competitive Centerless Grinding in Holliston for 40 years. He was a member of the US Airforce, serving as a Fire Suppressionist in the airfields. He proudly served on the Holliston Fire Department for 37 years.”
